Tenby
Argent architects
produced this Cottage near Tenby, which is situated in a
very sensitive conservation area at the heart of Pembrokeshire Coast
National Park Authority, adjacent to the Norman Church and Castle.
Working closely with the client and the planning department we transformed
the tiny cottage into a modern family home, and actually enhanced
the charm of the original tiny cottage, which is a grade two listed
building with many interesting historic features. By means of a
new linked outbuilding modern facilities have been added - Kitchen,
Dining, Bedroom, 2 Bathrooms and Utility Room. Large openings bring
the garden into the house. The semi circular stair element allows
maximum use of space and relates to Manorbier Church and castle
nearby.

Narberth
Argent architects
produced this house in Lawrenny near Narberth, which is situated
on the edge of the Cleddau Estuary in a sensitive location within
the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
A single storey cottage has been
transformed into a family house with a strong relationship to the
outdoors. In cooperation with the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park
Authority another storey was added to the cottage, a disability
grant was obtained and a wing added with disabled facilities for
a member of the family - allowing greater independence.
Great care was taken to maitain
a sense of appropriate scale and to reduce the perceived bulk of
the finished building.
The building work was carried out
by Don Chandler, father of our assoicate partner Adam Chandler.
