Tenby
Argent architects
in collaboration with Steve Hill (Architect) produced this
project for Grant Maunder of gm2 Developments above WHSmiths in
Tenby. The project consisted of three flats / apartments above the
store, all fronting onto a stunning view of Tenby's North Beach
and harbour.
The penthouse is particularly striking
with a fully openable panoramic window and seat, which also combines
as a log store.
This is a grade two listed building
and negotiations with Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority
and CADW was greatly assisted by three dimensional (3D) presentation,
when obtaining detailed planning consent. |

Tenby
Argent architects
have produced a concept design to respond to the Local Development
Plan: Candidate Sites. The Major aspirations are to provide quality
housing of high amenity that is sustainable and at a price that
local people can afford. Community, vitality, access to work, school
and local services are all highlighted along with a particular concern
regarding the outmigration of young adults.
A close look at the Candidate Sites
reveals the reality of our planning process. Sites are randomly
offered up by owners and there is little evidence of a prior initial
weighting of prospective development sites in terms of landscape,
topography and orientation. No doubt this appraisal will come at
a later stage but by then some of the most suitable sites will have
been missed. This study at LLwynon, Stepaside seeks to respond to
major LDP aspirations and is offered as a model to assist the appraisal
of existing Candidate Sites. |
